Pacific Coast - Minimal surf for the rest of the weekend and through the weekend from the SSW and trace West swell. Monday there's another tropical system pushing off Nicaragua that will add some rain and wind to the picture.

The Long Shot - Next swell will arrive from the WNW with head high to overhead surf by next Wednesday and then backing it up with some South swell bringing 1-2 feet overhead sets.

Waves Costa Rica - Tamarindo

11/21 - Surf small ankle to knee 1 ft to 2 ft glassy conditions trough the day weak surf last few days very onshore till today, period improvement for the afternoon hope for better surf, occasional rain partially cloudy, weather will improve trough the week, still not much of a crowd. Playa Grande still the best spot to be surf till conditions improve. Contact us to find out about our Green Barrel Season specials, lasting through early December!

Tamarindo

Rafa at
Witchs Rock Surf Camp - Tamarindo

11/22 - We stared the day with small wave in Tamarindo but with glassy conditions and left and right waves breaking at the river mouth.

For more pictures check out Rafasand.com!

Around noon the conditions make better size and offshore wind, so not bad at all to get into the water today and having fun and meet new people in town.

Playa Negra

11/21 - The best that came through this last week were in the waist to chest range. This coming weeks looks like it will be quite similar. The swell will be largest on Monday, but still, only waist to chest at stand-out locations. There are number of small wind swells in the water, along with the longer period SSW, that should keep it surfable through the week. With tides and winds in our favor I recommend that you go get some waves at one of the many open ocean facing beach breaks. Looks like the cloud cover will be backing down and Guanacaste will be enjoying an excellent Thanks Giving week! If you are going to be in Playa Negra this week it isn't too late to make a reservation for Thanksgiving dinner at one of our incredible restaurants. Gobble, Gobble, Gobble! Thanks and be safe!

Playa Guiones

James at Surfing Nosara

11/23 - This morning the surf is running waist to chest high, with the ever so occasional shoulder high set wave with overall fairly weak, but lined up conditions this morning. Swell should be turning a bit too far out of the south really for Guiones next couple of days but some good news on the horizon. Looks like a long period swell with the return of the offshore winds coming up in the near future. We have a lot of space out there but please be respectful & be courteous. The vibe here in Guiones is one of the best you will ever see but please use some basic courtesy. Don't bring an SUP smack into the middle of main peaks (they are super dangerous), when you're on a longboard (myself included) don't paddle out the back & catch every single wave

Santa Teresa

Gabi at Funky Monkey Lodge

11/21 - Muddy water color and windy and choppy due tho the rain. Yesterday and today we have beautiful clear sky, everything is getting back to normal, roads and bridges are fixed, decent waves with some wind. We had a big storm on Friday, so lots of mud slides, many properties got damaged and ruined, the beach didn't look very pretty either.

Boards are starting to sell as the tourists arrive and aguinaldos are paid and that’s sure nice to see! Happy Surfing ! Chuck and the CREW at WOW SURF !

Steve at Jazzys River House

Jazzys River House - Dominical

11/21 - Yesterday's rising tide early morning session featured some clean classy barrels - on the small side but fast and fun for the few who were out. The day was unsettled and the wind came and went as did the sun. The waves never recaptured the morning glass or class and it rained and drizzled and faded out on a low note. There were no hot rod barrels this morning. It was small again today and the surf overall was judged to be 'mas o menos' by the few who paddled out. Today was again unsettled; sunny for awhile, windy and rainy for awhile and most junky out in the lineup. Not much size, not much shape but some fun shoulders for those few with patience and perserverance. Still wintry around here with no change in sight. Some fun waves at Playa Hermosa (south) over the weekend but not as big or clean as Dominical.  No point action but Dominicalito has had some fun sessions lately.
Our lifeguard program is still in low season/poor economy crisis so check our website if you'd like to help:  www.dominicallifeguards.org

Dominical

Trevor at Greef Leaf Realty

11/21 - This morning the set waves were overhead with decent shape. As the tide filled in, the wave shape changed every 20 min, but there were plenty of random peaks forming. The wind was offshore early, then glassed off until about 9:15am. Currenlty we have onshore wind. Lately, the winds have been offshore in the early morning, and then offshore in the afternoons at about 4:30pm. We've had a lot of rain lately, so the conditions have been mixy, but good in short windows. Small swell this week, so Dominical will be your best bet. If it dumps rain, go check the surf as the rain disapates. We have a bunch of mixmatched small swells coming in this week. High tide will most likely be slow and mushy. Check dead low and mid tides for best shape. Wednesday is the Grand Re-opening Party at Tortilla Flats. That will be fun for sure! Our Life Guards have no funding right now and need help! Please go to Tortilla Flats and buy a T-shirt to help support the Lifeguards. You can also donate money. The Green Leaf Surf Property of the week is here - LINK.

11/19 - Ankle to knee high waves with poor shape. (1-2ft) Knee high waves if that, started glassing off around sunset but too small and low of a tide. Conditions sucked again today.
