CARLOS ENRIQUE BRENES :: FEDERATION OF SURF

Today's Date: 9/28/2017

An important climb up to the round number 5 - of 8 -, they just realized the ticas, Eva Woodland Solano, Zulay Martinez and Coral Wiggins Araya, during the fifth day of VISSLA ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.

After classifying the three, they take Costa Rica to the sixth day with 100 percent of the sub 18 and sub 16 with life.

In a day that the team had sensible losses like those of Aldo Chirinos in sub 18, as well as those of Gabriele Cordova and Oscar Urbina in sub 16, the ticas not only advanced until the beginning of the second half of the repesca, but eliminated to important figures of the World-wide one.

Among the three, they ended the intentions of surfers from Brazil, South Africa, Israel, Channel Islands and France.

Never in the history of Costa Rica's participation in ISA Junior World Cups, Costa Rica had brought their four women alive to the penultimate day, an action that gave the team today very important points for their intentions to occupy a place in the top 10 by nations.

On the other hand, another that climbed and doubled in the repechaje, was Sebastian Mora de Santa Teresa, who beat surfers from Peru, New Zealand, Panama and Mexico on this day. As well as a Malakai Martinez, who, along with Sebastian, got into the round 5 of 10 in the playoff.

And finally, the other defeat of the day but still alive, is that of Joseph Méndez, who lost his heat of the day and with this, will go to round 6 of the play to try to recover as the last sub 18 in men with lifetime.

The World Cup has a total of 76 competitors left alive, of which 7 are Costa Rican. Tomorrow, just like today, will be another day of high disqualification of competitors, scenario that will give Costa Rica a clue of the result that could get next Sunday.

Eva, Zulay Y Coral Entraron a Cuartos Del Repechaje
