Named The Rivals Of Costa Rica For The Central American

CARLOS ENRIQUE BRENES :: FEDERATION OF SURF

With less than 30 days for the selection of a national team to attend its first Central American Sports Games in collaboration with the Costa Rican sport in the surfing sector, the five nations that will compete in the surf contest, announced the complete list of their athletes.

They are the following:
 
NICARAGUA:
Men's Open: Rex Calderon, Jackson Obando, Kevin Cortez and Joel Chavez
Open Women: Valentina Resano and Candelaria Resano
Longboard: Jose Espinoza and Felipe Avendaño
SUP Race Men: Francisco Potoy

PANAMA:
Open Men: Jean Carlos Gonzalez, Johnny Alfonso, Jose Broce, Agustin Cedeño

Regarding the competition format, the local leadership of Nicaragua announced that during the two days of the contest (Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15), repechage rounds will be launched for each key. At the moment it discards possible keys in man to man.

The Costa Rican team, commanded by Jim Hogan, will travel three or four days before the official start of the event, this with the aim of studying a wave where he has already been Team Champion twice.

However, the goal in this preparation that points to the Olympic preparation, will only add the individual gold medals to the final medal table; that is, the goal of the Ticos is to get the five gold medals in dispute.

A menos de 30 días para que una Selección Nacional de lujo, acuda a sus primeros Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos en colaboración con el deporte costarricense en la rama surf, las cinco naciones que competirán en tabla, externaron la lista completa de sus atletas.

Sobre el formato de competencia, la dirección local de Nicaragua adelantó que durante los dos días de contienda (jueves 14 y viernes 15 de diciembre), se lanzarán rondas de repechaje para cada llave. De momento se descarta posibles llaves en hombre a hombre.

El equipo de Costa Rica, comandado por Jim Hogan, viajará tres o cuatro previos al inicio oficial del evento, esto con miras al estudio de una ola donde ya ha resultado Campeón por equipos dos veces.

Sin embargo, la meta en esta preparación que apunta a la preparación olímpica, sumara únicamente las medallas de oro individual al medallero final; es decir, la meta de los ticos es conseguir las cinco medallas de oro en disputa.
