Hawaiian Pro 2017 - Noe Mar Caught a Tube at Sunset Beach

The first test for Noe Mar McGonagle in one of the iconic Hawaiian waves, Sunset Beach and, during the WQS 10,000 points that started yesterday, was simply spectacular, after today he got into a huge and clean pipe that the judges ended up paying with 9.00 points.

It happened during heat No. 10 of round 2, a series that ended up winning rivals South Africa, Hawaii and Tahiti with a combination of 15.10 (9.00 + 6.10), the highest of the day so far and in a competition that runs your key 2, of 7 in total.

This qualifies him to the third round, heat # 10, where he will face the WCT, Conner Coffin, Italo Ferreira and Adam Melling.

"I knew it was a big wave, I was not quite sure how well positioned I was, but seeing the potential of the wave I said to myself: -ok, it's time to intubate. I finally start to feel comfortable in this wave, "said Noe Mar.

For their part, Tomas King and Carlos Muñoz, quickly said goodbye to the competition in the fourth and third position of their respective heats.

Noe Mar Se Metió Un Tubazo en Sunset

La primera prueba para el tico Noe Mar McGonagle en una de las icónicas olas hawaianas, Sunset Beach y, durante el WQS 10.000 puntos que arrancó ayer, fue sencillamente espectacular, después que hoy se metiera en una enorme y limpia tubería que los jueces terminaron pagando con 9.00 puntos.

Sucedió durante el heat No. 10 de la ronda 2, serie que le terminó ganando a rivales de Sudáfrica, Hawái y Tahití con una combinación de 15.10 (9.00 + 6.10), la más alta del día hasta el momento y en una competencia que corre su llave 2, de 7 en total.

Esto lo clasifica a la tercera ronda, heat #10, donde enfrentará a los WCT, Conner Coffin, Italo Ferreira y Adam Melling.

“Sabía que era una ola grande, no estaba muy seguro de qué tan bien posicionado estaba, pero al ver el potencial de la ola me dije: -ok, es hora de entubarse. Finalmente me empiezo a sentir cómodo en esta ola”, dijo Noe Mar.

Por su parte, Tomas King y Carlos Muñoz, se despidieron rápido de la competencia en la cuarta y tercera posición de sus respectivos heats.
