Playa Hermosa recibirá el cierre de Circuito más peleado de la historia

Solamente ganando la Gran Final Reef, se asegura el título nacional. Esa es la situación de los primeros siete competidores que se encuentran en el ranking actual y previo a la sétima fecha del Circuito Nacional Olympus 2012, presentado por Banana Boat, fecha que se correrá los días 24, 25 y 26 de agosto en Playa Hermosa de Jacó.

Frente a las instalaciones del Hotel Backyard, los 10 primeros surfistas del ranking en la categoría Open, acudirán con el objetivo de luchar el título más peleado de la historia del Circuito, consecuencia del alto nivel mostrado a lo largo de un campeonato que corrió ya seis fechas, de las cuales cinco, resultaron diferentes ganadores.

La Gran Final Reef, repartirá 2.000 puntos al ganador o ganadora por categoría, situación que hace a todos y cada uno de los competidores, sumar esta como su mejor cuarta fecha, debido a que, del total de siete fechas de este campeonato, solo las mejores cuatro suman puntos.

Todas las preliminares entregaron 1.500.

En años anteriores, la regularidad y constancia de uno o dos surfistas como mucho, que se escapaban en la punta de la tabla desde mitad de temporada, hacía que llegaran a la final con el objetivo de clasificar a cuartos o semifinales para reclamar el título.

Pero en este 2012 la situación fue más variada que nunca y solo Jair Pérez quien ayer confirmó su ausencia para la final, debido a su participación en el WQS de Virginia Beach, fue quien pudo repetir victoria en citas corridas en el Pacífico Central: Esterillos Oeste y su casa Jacó.

La ahora ausencia de Pérez en la final, hace que los surfistas que van por el título estén separados por menos de 500 puntos entre el segundo lugar de la tabla que le pertenece a Noe Mar McGonagle (empatado en puntos con Anthony Fillingim, está tercero) y Maykol Torres que está noveno.

“Mi estrategia es no pensar en ningún titulo nacional, sino solamente surfear e intentar ganar el evento. El nivel está súper alto y sé que va ser una buena lucha en una ola que no conozco tanto como ellos”, dijo McGonagle.

Por su parte, Anthony Fillingim, empatado en puntos con Noe Mar previo a la final, refirió que: “Mi visión y objetivo para la gran final es coronarme campeón nacional, pero lo más importante de todo, es que quiero disfrutar del evento y concentrarme para lograr mi meta”.

La lista total de los nueve surfistas con amplias posibilidades es: Jair Pérez (ausente), Anthony Fillingim, Noe Mar McGonagle, Gilbert Brown, Ramón Taliani, Jefferson Tascón, Diego Naranjo, Carlos Muñoz (ausente) y Maykol Torres.

Por su parte, en la categoría Open Femenino, la lucha volverá a ser entre Lisbeth Vindas y Nataly Bernold, quienes de clasificar ambas a la final del evento, harían bipartidista el título en femenino. Eve Johnstone les sigue muy cerca y a la espera del error de cualquiera de las dos.

En Junior masculino, quienes llegan con mayor cantidad de puntos sobre los demás son Noe Mar McGonagle y Manuel Mesén, quienes, de clasificar ambos también a la final, harían de igual manera es campeonato luchado por dos piezas.

Sonámbulo y Pierre Monney cerrarán con broche de oro

Como si fuera poco, los tres días más intensos del mejor surf de Costa Rica que se correrá en la playa sede de los eventos más grandes realizados en el país, dos de los artistas más solicitados del momento, cerrarán la fecha para las cientas de personas que se esperan ese fin de semana.

Se trata de la famosa banda Sonámbulo Psicotropical y Pierre Monney quienes tocarán en vivo durante la fiesta oficial de cierre del Circuito Nacional Olympus 2012, llamada Fiesta de Cierre Reef en el Hotel Morgan’s Cove en Jacó , el sábado 26 a partir de las 8:00 p.m.

Se contará con la participación de las ganadoras del Miss Reef Costa Rica en marzo pasado.

La preventa de las entradas desde ya está abierta en las tiendas Roca Bruja Surf Shop en Multiplaza del Este, Escazú y Paseo de la Flores, y en Jacó en Aurora Yoga Studio. El costo es de 5.000 colones.
