3/7 - The wind is holding for the afternoon sessions and the waves have been amazing this week in spite of the straight in swell direction. The swell is dropping now and very clean. Tomorrow, Sunday, we’ll get in the water at daybreak. March can be very good with south swells starting to kick in although the wind will be less consistent for the afternoon sessions. The water has warmed considerably and should be back to normal in a few days.

3/17 - This weekend the spots were uncrowded since most of surfers and their families left to Santa Teresa for the 3rd date of the National surf circuit. Waves have been small, average size 2-3 ft in the best sets at river mouth. Avellanas all the beach breaks but Little Hawaii in particular did give its best breaks with 4 fast and solid ft in windy conditions since early morning, partially crowded there, the beach breaks were really busy. This coming Saturday, we have small breed pups that need loving forever homes; also if you have old blankets or dog or cat items that you are not using, bring them over to donations, when we do the spay and neuter clinics the supplies go fast: Cotton balls bottles of alcohol hand sanitizer disinfectant..anything helps. Thanks, hope to see many of your smiling faces. Let's help the homeless and help less dogs and cats - Facebook link

3/2 - This past week we had plenty of little waves. This week, however, we will see our first good southern hemi swell. Initial reports suggest it to begin filling in late today (Monday). The peak of this swell should reach into the double overhead plus range. The very long periods should assure that nary a nook or cranny will not be empty of waves. Papagayo winds will persist throughout the entire week. Yes, it will be offshore nearly non-stop for this entire epic swell. It just doesn't get any better than this. SalveMonos, the non-profit organization helping Howler Monkey's, will be having a tenth anniversary party on Saturday April 11th. Great event for a great cause. Thanks and be SAFE!

Dominical

Steve at Jazzys River House

Jazzys River House - Dominical

3/4 - A few overhead sets today so far but a strong sideshore wind is helping to close this beach out for the mid-day rising tide session. Small but clean this morning for lower tides with a strong offshore. Too many long walls today and yesterday, not enough peaks. Dominical overall the past week has been small, clean and hard to beat for the area. Hermosa South has had a smaller variety of good waves and Dominicalito has been a bit too mellow. Hotel Roca Verde every Friday night - Great food and great music. Terrific pizza for starters with plenty of Rock & Roll to dance it off with.
