Caribbean Coast - Not too much happening on the right coast with mostly waist high short period surf. It grows a foot by Sunday from a NNE wind swell, but doesn't get over head high by next Tuesday.

Pacific Coast - It's time for a STRATEGIC STRIKE!! Massive SSW arriving Saturday with a 22 second period and waves growing from overhead in the morning to 3-4 feet overhead by sunset. Sunday it maxes with double overhead plus surf, but some beaches won't show due to some blockage from the Galapagos. Hit up the popular point breaks to the south and you won't be disappointed. Swell sticks around through next Tuesday.

The Long Shot - By Thursday the waves are back to chest to head, but a SW swell arrives by the 10th with more 1-2 feet overhead surf.

4/23 - The just overhead waves in Playa Grande have been especially good early in the morning this week. The shape was nearly perfect on Wednesday to go with the clear warm water. Today, Thursday, there was a bomb or two every 15 min. The wind should remain off-shore for the morning surf into the weekend. The rainy season is at our door but it hasn’t rained yet and the wind is cooperating so far at least for the morning sessions The crowds at the main peaks have backed off considerably.

4/28 - Got some weekend session 2-3ft at river mouth, good conditions with a pretty crowded line up, waves were enough for all, south winds every morning by 10am. Langosta had some good morning sessions with up to 3 solid ft within the incoming tide, local crowd but not too busy, wind use to shift in the mid morning till 3pm. I guess no other event rather than the big swell coming soon will be important to report. Wish you all Buenas Olas!

4/21 - Sick waves non-stop! What more can you hope for? Swell ins dropping over the next couple of days. However, there will be some sick waves that will definitely be overhead over the next couple of days and maybe even through Monday! Early bird gets the worm. We are on the brink of the rainy season here. ?Other than this Thursday there should be onshore winds every single day coming in by nine or so in the morning. Get on it early. Don't forget to stop in to Azul Profundo Boutique in Tamarindo and pick up a souvenir T or mug to support SalveMonos a non-profit that helps those lovable Howler Monkeys? Thanks and be safe.

4/28 - This morning at 7 am waves were waist to chest high. Light off shore wind and mostly cloudy skies. Kind of messy and stormy. A few ok waves as the tide was raising. Might clean up with a higher tide.

4/21 - Wednesday evening had some of the cleanest most enjoyable afternoon conditions in quite a while, shoulder high and sooooo clean it was real good, only 4 guys out here and 2 pretty girls so the crowd was a positive thing too. Rains are close you can see it in the mountains and its getting lower everyday, still be dry most days but you can start expecting those afternoon showers too. Beachbreaks are the ticket as usual . Jaco is in its slow easy going days but we still have some tourists walking around seeing the most futuristic tourist based city in Costa Rica , Just broke the news last week of a new shopping center going to be built starting now and the eye candy looks pretty nice. So many good things happen in our town everyday its amazing! Thanks for looking at CR Surf, Chuck and the gang at WOW SURF!

Steve at Jazzys River House

Jazzys River House - Dominical

4/21 - Excellent morning conditions today.  Clean overhead waves, strong offshore breeze, bright blue sky and thanks to the recent opening of the rivermouth our sandbars are actively moving again.  We've had a return of peaky conditions and some regular dazzling rights in the area of the mouth.  Exceptional lower tide barrels have been more common than usual recently and crowds have thinned since Easter week. Playa Hermosa South has been smaller and less consistent than Dominical but not without some very fun, un-crowded sessions especially at higher tides.  Dominicalito has offered some of it's usual mellow high tide conditions and Punta Dominical has scored a few mid-size to big days lately. Hotel Roca Verde continues to draw good crowds with their regular Friday night live music and great food and the new Patron's restaurant has been featuring regular live music to their evening schedule.  Jazzy's River House is back to offering low season discounts for cabina rental, therapeutic body work, surf lessons and board rentals and craft classes.
