Breakdown:

Caribbean Coast - The next decent ENE swell arrives late Saturday pushing in overhead sets and stays around head high through Tuesday. The Caribbean has been very consistent this summer so expect more swell for next week, too.

Pacific Coast - Minor SSW and Southwest swells keep the flatness away until Monday, but don't expect anything over head high past Friday.

The Long Shot - The next South swell arrives on the 26th with 1-2 foot overhead surf but nothing massive. Then it's another small wave week while waiting for more storms to cross the South Pacific.

* The forecast is made using 15 years of wave model and report analysis, but can't be accurate 100% of the time. To do your own, use our links.

Playa Grande

Hotel Las Tortugas

Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas

7/14 - The waves have been tiny for the last couple of days. Today, Monday, it nudged a little bit and there were some chest high sets until the tide got too high. The conditions have been perfect with many off shore days. This week should be excellent with the tides mellowing out and swinging into the morning window with twin sessions into the weekend. The water is warm and clear and the crowds have been light with soccer fever keeping the party going inland.

Tamarindo

Seafari Costa Rica

Alejandro at Seafari Costa Rica

7/15 - We had small conditions in Tamarindo, the swell was pushed away by the strong Northern winds during the past weekend, did not stop visitors to try surfing for the first time, they just had to be more cautious about flying boards. Marbella and further South along the coast winds were more mellow giving 2-3 ft waves for the more experienced and adventurous travelers. This Friday at Pangas Beach Club, 20% discount on our FISH MARKET. Live music Covertronics starts at 7:30 pm.

Playa Negra

Larry at Playa Negra Realty

Playa Negra Realty
7/14 - Although, these past days have been on the small side there has been plenty of fun surf. Today will likely be the smallest and then we will have a few medium southwest swells to play with for the upcoming week. Surf should stay in the fun to fun + size. The winds are the big news. We will continue to have unseasonably great winds for the coming week just like last week! Pick up a SalveMonos T, sticker, or mug and help those loveable Howler Monkey's in out area. You can find them at Azul Profundo Boutique or Luna Llena Hotel in Tamarindo. Thanks and be safe!

Nosara

Brayan at SurfingNosara.com

7/15 - The waves were really fun this morning, off shore winds, with a good size: shoulder high and some head high sets. Really clean and many people in the water and in town enjoying their vacation. If you are in the area and have any questions about the area or real estate, stop by our office! Pura Vida.

Chuck at Walking on Water Surf Shop

7/15 - Glassy smallish, shoulder high waves but tons of fun right now, great tides and its not crazy sunny but its not raining either. its kind of like the best of both, summer and winter mixed. Hermosa was sooooo fun this a.m. it was a like one of the dream days on the east coast of the U.S. but way better even!

We are still doing that 20% off all new boards [except Hayden] sale here (just mention CRsurf), have sold out of a few models but have some sweeties here still, if you need a nice high tech HIGH quality shortboard or longboard now is the time! Pura Vida and Happy Surfing, Chuck and the CREW at WOW SURF!

7/15 - MIX SSW holding 4-6ft+. FAIR CONDITIONS TODAY WITH STORMS IN THE AREA. Swell set to ease tomorrow with more on the way for the end of the week. Costa Rica Surf Realty

Trevor at Costa Rica Surf Realty

7/15 - Tuesday, Currently the swell is small with chest high waves during the high tides. The week to come looks pretty similar. We might see overhead conditions on Wednesday and Thursday but most of the week will be chest high surf. Best conditions have been in the morning or late in the afternoon. Mid day tends to have more onshore wind. Check the surf just after a hard rain for glassy conditions. The entire beach is breaking well with peaks from the rivermouth down past "Cool Vibes" hotel. Check Dominical, Playa Hermosa, and perhaps Achote on Wednesday. Friday night live concert at Tortilla Flats. Town is somewhat slow and there are plenty of rooms and houses for rent. Contact me for details.
