Caribbean Coast - Another week of weak surf through the weekend. There's a bump from the Northeast set to arrive late next Monday that will push it up to chest high by Tuesday but not last more than a day.

Pacific Coast - Leftover SSW swell keeps the waves fun with mostly chest to head surf for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Next Monday sees a new South swell push in some overhead surf, but nothing major.

The Long Shot - Some West swell adds to the set count by next Thursday with more head high waves, and a new Southwest swell adds overhead conditions for next weekend.

10/22 - The last couple of days have really had a rainy season look with a full bumpy ocean and surprisingly little rain mixed in with the sunshine. The ocean is still clear and warm without “chocolate milk” conditions in our area. Our morning sessions start next week, and the possibility of off-shores and good surf are excellent. Check the weather reports for the wind direction and catch some great overcast days before the clear weather sets in.

10/21 - Swell conditions were minimum plus the stormy days kept is blown by the on shore winds, now looking forward for clean small conditions.

Tamarindo’s River Mouth is sharing some 2-3 ft sets. Playa Grande gets most of this small swell with some 3-4ft by Thursday, clean conditions in the mornings with a friendly crowd.

Bingo and raffle, October 21st, from 7 to 9pm, at Doña Lee’s Restaurant. Proceeds to “Homeless and Helpless” animal shelter.

10/22 - As you may know, this is without a doubt the slowest, rainiest, and onshore ridden time of year. We need it! It brings the rain that you will shower with later. This weekend we are looking at another nice 3' @ 15 second SW bump that will light up the area reefs. Could be overhead on the best tides. Friday, Monday, and Tuesday are looking to have the best condition morning windows for surf this upcoming week. Get on it early! Don't forget to pick up a monkey T, sticker, or mug to help the areas Howler Monkey's. These souvenir purchases have helped to place over 400 monkey bridges in the area that traverse roads and power lines. Find them at Azul Profundo Boutique or Luna Llena Hotel in Tamarindo. Thank you and be safe!

10/27 - The surf this morning was in the head plus range, a bit mixed up with several run-outs pumping through the lineup. The rights seemed better than the lefts for sure. We'll expect the swell to slowly fade over the week. Thought we were switching over into the summer mode, but apparently we aren't quite there yet. Friday and Saturday had us feeling some good offshore winds, but it slowly crept back around the other way, and the rains also came back yesterday.

10/25 - Good waves - good weather. We've been having enough rain to set up some nice sandbars for peaky waves and enough sun and blue sky to enjoy the good surf. Mostly small - occasional head high sets have come through and the morning sessions have been very clean and shapely. Mid-day breezes have been a minor problem and while afternoon storms have pushed through they have left windows of glassy calm after moving on. Playa Hermosa South has been fairly clean and on the small side but not too crowded. Playa Dominicalito has had some nice fun high tide sessions but the point has been quiet. 'Trip the light fantastic' is an old expression and who knows where it comes from or what it means but it seems to apply to Friday night live music, dancing and excellent food and drink in a cheerful atmosphere. Ben Jammin' & the Howlers with 'Electric Nancy and her plugged in fiddle' make for exciting after hours entertainment. Check Jazzy's River House for deals and discounts on lodging and arts & crafts activities as well as therapeutic body work, intense surf lessons and rejuvenating yoga sessions.
