Wings and Wheels
This type of Costa Rica Surf trip is for those who want to leave their options open. It gives you the option of deciding where to go and how long to stay there. It gives you the maximum chance to explore and lets you stop at any surf break, at any time along the way, for as long as you want. This way if it is "going off" at one spot you do not have to leave because you have hotel reservations somewhere else.

Surf Tours & Camps
There are many businesses in Costa Rica that offer surf tours. It may be that you just want a guide for the day to show you the local spots. Or you may want someone to take you around to the breaks that suit your style of surfing for the whole trip, food and accommodations included. The idea of a SURF CAMP does not have to be 'roughing it', you can stay in a 5-star resort or a beachfront mansion with your personal chef delighting you with the freshest ingredients. Or you can go completely off the grid, camping in on a beach in the Corcovado National Park on the Osa Peninsula in the south to Witchs Rock in the north. Whatever you wish, we can help you find courteous, professional, and local surf tour operations who will make your trip unforgettable. We've done this for fourteen years, running a fully licensed and insured travel agency.
There are surf camps in every corner of the country. It's a great way to learn to surf, make new friends, and not have to worry about driving everywhere. Just because is it a 'camp' does not mean you have to sacrifice comfort. The surf camps in Costa Rica range from basic for beginners to all inclusive for advanced surfers. Some of them teach you how to surf right in their own backyard. Others will transport you to the best breaks in the area. And if you are in Costa Rica for awhile, why not try a camp where you can learn Spanish, too? We know which camps are best and will give you an expert choice so you can make your decision with confidence. Take a look at some of our favorites here.

PRIVATE SURF CHARTERS
Maybe you're tired of the crowds and the mosquitos, and just want to get away for awhile. Well a boat trip is the way to go. Most surf charters leave from Herradura or Playa de Coco and will take you to spots that are nearly impossible to access by land. A few even make multi-day trips, so you step off the plane, take a transfer right to the boat, and then you're off on an all-inclusive adventure. We can help make your reservations for Roca Bruja all the way down to Matapalo, and can find packages to fit every budget.

CR Surf Travel Company is a member of 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate one percent of our proceeds to environmental causes. It is part of our mission to help keep our oceans blue by supporting small hotels and camps that contribute to their community. Here are a few ideas for what you can do as a traveling surfer:
1. Recycle your water bottles – most every beach town has a recycling center or just leave them in your car and the rental company will recycle them.
2. Be a positive role model – if you see some trash, pick it up. It’s no big deal, but everyone doing a little adds up to a lot
3. Volunteer for a non-profit – in Costa Rica you can help collect turtle eggs, do beach cleanups, observe dolphins and whales, or plant trees in the rainforest.
4. Support the local economy by taking a tour – go visit the National Parks, try snorkeling, rafting, or kayaking, and learn how the ocean’s ecosystems interact.
